 Game Safety

Safety Equipment

Warrior Training helmets

Helmets provide full head coverage, including protection for the face and eyes. Helmets are provided by WT and are regularly inspected.

Optional Equipment (recommended)

Participants are highly encouraged to bring kneepads, padded gloves, a formed mouthpiece, and an athletic cup.  WT games can involve spending extended periods of time playing on knees, and the sensitive areas such as fingers, groin, and teeth always benefit from added protection.

Personal gear should be labeled with participant initials.

NOTE:  Please do NOT wear extra body armor.

Safety Procedures

Warrior Training Combat rules are designed to ensure safety during play.

All WT combat games are supervised by trained staff.

Game rules are clearly presented before play begins.

Whistle stops are used to control game play when necessary.

Aggression, and emotions such as fear and anger are not ignored, but are met openly and constructively. This is one of the issues that Warrior Training is ideally situated to address, and we have seen powerful instances of young men facing and controlling their emotions in healthy and positive ways.

While participants are encouraged to be brave and challenge themselves, players are also allowed to remove themselves from the action at any time.

Players are instructed to report any illness / injury to a WT coach immediately.

Weapon Construction

Design

WT weapons are very carefully designed.  Great amounts of time and energy have gone into making weapons that allow for realistic games while protecting our players.

Materials include multi-layered foam and a lightweight fiberglass core.

Only Warrior Training weapons will be allowed in WT games.
